Courtney is a unisex name, I've met heaps of males called Courtney. And as for naming a dog that, I could think of many worse 'human' names. And who says everyone has to call their pet 'Rex' or 'Bud' or some equally typical animal name. They have personalities too, can't see why they can't have nice names.
